Welcome to CheckWise, a mobile application designed to help users identify allergens in images by leveraging the HealthWise platform. By using CheckWise, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Introduction CheckWise is a mobile application developed by HealthWise GmbH, a limited liability company based in Germany, European Union. For more information, please visit https://www.health-wise.eu/
2. Service Description CheckWise scans images to recognize allergens from the text and objects found in the image. The application uses the HealthWise platform to perform recognition by securely transmitting the necessary data for processing. CheckWise does not store any user data that can directly or indirectly identify a user.
3. Data Privacy and Usage 3
3.1. Anonymous Data: CheckWise operates on a privacy-first principle. The application does not store or retain any identifiable user information, even when users opt-in to share anonymous usage and location data.
3.2. Opt-in Policy: Users have the option to share anonymous data to help improve the application. This data is anonymized and cannot be traced back to any individual user.
3.3. Third-party Services: Data sent to the HealthWise platform for allergen recognition is processed in accordance with the HealthWise platform’s privacy policies.
4. User Responsibilities

5. Disclaimer of Liability
5.1. No Guarantees: CheckWise provides a best-effort service to accurately recognize allergens and match them against user-defined profiles. However, CheckWise does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the results.
5.2. Errors and Omissions: CheckWise is not liable for any mistakes in recognition or the consequences of such mistakes, including but not limited to allergic reactions or other adverse effects.
5.3. As-is Service: CheckWise is provided “as-is” without any warranties, express or implied, except as required by law. Users assume all responsibility for their use of the application.
6. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CheckWise and its developers shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the application.
7. Modifications and Updates CheckWise may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Users are encouraged to review the Terms regularly. Continued use of the application following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
